Sing, sing and sing

"He had been told to sing for just one hour," reminisces Srinivas. And after one hour, he peeped into the side wings and pleaded: "Just one more piece." Even as Dr. Talwalkar was saying a firm "No", he had resumed. Mansur wouldn't stop even after two-and-a-half hours. "Talwalkar just walked on to the stage and switched off the mike and took him away."

"He had overcome the fear of death completely. The only thing he longed for was to sing, sing and sing."

By the time Srinivas reached, Mansur had been taken into the dialysis centre and was on the machine. "His son Rajshekar Mansur was sitting beside him, singing to him," recalls Srinivas. He was singing "Dukh door kariye" in Bhairav, and the next minute he saw Mansur, with great difficulty correcting his son. "He hummed it for him and said, `This is how you have to sing'."

Thanks for the post.

You seem to have gone on a Mansur overdrive on your radio.
Love his voice, but don't you think you are overdoing it a little bit...

@trivialinc: Last heard, the govt doesn't read blogs.

Who are you, btw?
